STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Kindergarten Rotary Student of the Month

Our Kindergarten year has been surrounded by one consistent theme: Kindness.
It is my goal to immerse our daily routines in our words, actions and all that we do; to be centered around the positive character trait of kindness.
Both rotary students have this quality and many others that I noticed when I penciled in their names in just the first few weeks of school.
This Kindergarten rotary student is super quiet, extremely kind and always listening. He loves to learn. He is constantly on task and very conscientious of completing his work with neatness and accuracy. When he finishes his assignments, you can find him quietly helping a classmate or reading a book. He is a good follower of Christ because he is such a shining star of an example to his classmates. He does this by following the rules, choosing to do the right thing and always earning green, blue and purple faces daily throughout our school year.

Anthony Ayala has many honorable characteristics that others should want to imitate, such as: hardworking, polite, patient, respectful and of course KIND! I am very proud of all that you have done and will continue to do. Anthony loves his family (especially his big sister Kayla), the color red, eating cheese pizza and going to the library. When he grows up, he hopes to be a police officer. Congratulations Anthony on shining your star so bright this Kindergarten year!

A rotary student should have a very strong desire to learn and do the right thing, which is exactly what this student possesses! She is a quiet, sweet, happy girl with such a faith-filled, joyful heart. She always gives her best efforts in both her work and behavior. Her constant need to do the right thing shines through in all she does in and outside of our classroom. She’s always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone. Her smile lets others know that she is a kind friend.

When you imagine what a rotary student should like, Kendall Peralta’s picture should pop into your mind. She is generous, organized, honest, creative and has just a sprinkle of sass and goofiness to bring a smile to your face and some warmth to your heart. Kendall loves unicorns, the colors pink and purple and eating salad, tacos and pizza. She would like to be a ballerina when she grows up. Congratulations Kendall on a job well done in Kindergarten; keep letting your star shine!

In choosing my first grade rotary students there was a lot to consider. As I reflected back on most of the year, there were two students that especially seemed to stand out when it came to the virtue presented for this months rotary, that of RESPONSIBILITY. Both of these first graders have shown great responsibility in their classwork, their homework, the way they work with others, the way they respond to direction and most importantly their responsibility to their Catholic Faith.

My first choice for first grade rotary, is Emily Michelena. Emily is such a bright young girl whose presence is always cheerful and loving to all who encompass her. Emily has shown astounding academic, social and spiritual progress throughout the year, and constantly continues to thrive off of any challenge I pass her way. Emily doesn’t ever choose to let her 22Q be an issue. She doesn’t ever back down from something she struggles with, she works 110% at all she does, and strives to understand all that she can and more! She has surpassed any goals that I had for her, and continues to be awe inspiring not only to me, but to her fellow classmates. Emily is the kindest of friends to all, who doesn’t see an enemy in anyone. She will lend you a hand, and say a
prayer for you, and she will definitely let you know if you are off task in class, with a 3,2,1 talking is all done. Emily’s favorite subject is Math. Her favorite hobby at home is to play fun games on her tablet. She wants to be an animal doctor when she grows up. When asked what her “Catholic Faith” means to her, she said, “it means to always be nice to people.”

Emily thank you for being the sunshine in our classroom and for honoring the virtue of responsibility to its truest fashion!

Congratulations!!

My next choice for first grade rotary, is Kayla Ayala. Kayla is a stellar student who is not only bright but shows a tremendous amount of dedication when it comes to her academics. She is always on task, and never backs down from any challenge or goal that I give to her. Her homework is always turned in on time, she finishes her classwork in a timely manner and then will even ask what she can do, or who she can help out. She is helpful to any classmate in need, and does it with grace and compassion. Kayla shows the virtue of responsibility through her daily actions towards her schoolwork, her listening skills and her participation during lessons. She is a loving friend whose always there to pep them up, give a hug and make them feel better about themselves. Kayla’s favorite subject is Science. Some of her favorite hobbies at home are swimming and playing with her cats. Kayla either wants to be a police officer or a farmer so she can stay home and take care of animals. When asked what her “Catholic Faith” means to her, she said, “it is important to have Jesus in my heart at all times!”

Kayla I appreciate that you always have a beautiful smile on your face and are always ready and prepared to learn. You most definitely possess and live up to the virtue of responsibility.

Congratulations!!

And to the both of you, I have been more than blessed to be your first grade teacher, and am beyond happy to honor you both as First Grade Rotary Students!!

Love always,
Mrs. Howry
